Haunted Houses

Picture
The Slaughter House
"The Slaughter House is a formerly condemned, family owned meat-processing plant that has reopened with the promise of the best meat in town. However, the secret family ingredient in the meat remains a mystery.
Mr. and Mrs. Drake owned a butcher shop in a small town just outside St. Louis, located on a secluded street around the corner from a small private college. They had the sweetest, freshest meat in town, but would never reveal their secret ingredient. When customers asked about it, they would smile and simply reply, “It’s a cherished family secret!”
Since the butcher shop was located so close to the college, many of the students would seek part time employment there…and part time it was. Students never seemed to stay at the shop long, in fact many of the students ironically dropped out of the college or so the locals thought.
When parents started calling the college saying they had not heard from their kids in some time, the town knew something was wrong. Police started investigating and talking to the locals, and of course, the butcher shop was first on their list. The Drakes always said that the college students had failed to show up to work and offered to put up posters in their business to help with the search effort. One night, an off-duty police officer was walking home after the late night shift when he heard a murderous scream coming from the butcher shop. He banged on the door furiously, and heard Mrs. Drake yell, “Sorry! We’re closed!” Convinced something just wasn’t right, the brave officer kicked down the door and headed to the back storage room, where the meat machines were running at full force spewing out chunks of tender red meat.
He opened the door and found lifeless heads and bodies hanging from the ceiling. Mr. Drake was holding a young man towards the meat grinder, sawing off his head as blood squirted all over the room. Mrs. Drake, meanwhile, was cutting off the fingers of a young lady and draining her blood. They suddenly both turned around and saw the officer standing there, completely petrified at the horrific scene before him. “Congratulations officer! You’ve discovered our secret ingredient,” said Mr. Drake. Mrs. Drake continued, “The youngsters have the purest, sweetest flesh, but police officers have more muscle.” Before the officer could call for help, the Drakes grabbed and tossed him into the nearest chopper. He wasn’t as fresh as the college students, but he created a lean, bloody steak that sold out the next day.
A Help Wanted sign hangs in the window of the butcher shop but beware if you enter unannounced, Mr. and Mrs. Drake don’t like visitors, because anyone who explores the old meat factory may uncover their secret ingredient that has made them a fortune. If and when you’re caught, there’s no escaping the same fate as the many other brave souls before you who have never made it out."

Blind Fury
MaZe Manufacturing has come up with the perfect answer for dwindling sales…toys that come to life.
Workers began meeting untimely demises and visitors who came to tour the factory would disappear. Eventually authorities launched an investigation, but when they arrived, the factory was deserted and the doors were locked.
Detectives pried open the back door of the factory and pressed on through a maze of swinging doors, moving floors, vibrating walls and confined spaces, all while blinded by flickering lights and disoriented by darkness. Eventually they ended up in a room with a conveyor belt where they discovered the bodies of the missing workers and visitors. They turned to run but the toys were everywhere; a sense of helplessness overcame the detectives as they realized there was no way out of this toy terror.

Zombieville
"Park goers beware: Avoid the streets of Old Chicago. This section of the park has been cordoned off in an attempt to quarantine local residents who have been infected by someone or something. Law enforcement officers from surrounding areas scour the streets each night, in search of blood-thirsty, evil creatures that have been seen lurking throughout the area, scavenging for their next meal…human flesh and brains. When found, they are dropped off here in an effort to contain the infestation.
If you dare to take this short cut to your favorite ride in the park, please proceed with caution. You should be fine by day, but there are no guarantees by night. Park employees that monitor the area from afar say the zombies awaken from their deep slumbers completely famished. They describe them as dreadful creatures with crazed glaring stares, rising up from the steamy earth, to set out on another terrorizing hunt for their next savory meal of sweet human brains and fresh flesh.
Signs are posted warning travelers of the dangers ahead, but it’s ultimately up to you to heed our warnings, as there is no safe place within Zombieville once these creatures reach the surface after dark. They often split up, lurking in the shadows in wait of those who pass close enough so they can take them by surprise, snatching them up out of the street and into the darkness where they devour their flesh. Please beware and warn your friends of the dangers of Zombieville."

Sinister Clowns
Type: Scare Zone
"The circus has come to town, but these clowns are not here to entertain…they are here to take over. Oh they will make you laugh, but beware; their silly antics and tricks soon turn to terror. These clowns have gone rogue – call it a grudge, call it revenge, but they will have the last laugh unless the sheriff can save the day.

The traveling circus had come to town as it did every fall, but this year, it was a bit closer to Halloween than usual and had a different group of clowns than before. They made the crowd laugh night after night; they were without a doubt a crowd pleaser. On the last night, however, the tables turned, and it was the clowns’ turn to laugh.
Just as the sword swallower was finishing his routine, the spotlights flickered and came crashing down to the ground, crushing the performers in the middle of the arena, spattering blood onto the petrified audience. The whole tent went pitch dark. A creepy clown laugh came over the sound system and announced that audience members were about to have the “fright of their lives.” As the rest of the circus performers lay dead in a puddle of blood in the center of the venue the crowd realized this show had just taken an evil turn.
With the clown’s devilish smirks glowing in the light, terrified audience members raced for the exits, only to find that the tent had been tied shut. They were stuck. There was no way out. Several of the clowns entered the center ring, picked up the knives from the sword swallower’s performance, and starting tossing them around the tent, plunging through the heart of anyone in its way. After this bloody murder spree, the clowns sliced a hole into the tent, escaping into the night. The Sheriff who had heard the commotion and had arrived outside the tent took chase. The clowns spread out behind buildings and down alleyways with the Sheriff in hot pursuit. Neither the clowns nor the sheriff were ever seen again.
A few years later, a traveling circus proclaiming to be “the funniest show on earth – with clowns that will make you die laughing!” started appearing around the country. Maniacal clowns hang around outside the venue, entertaining and luring unsuspecting audiences in with their silly clown costumes and zany humor. But once inside, they go out of their way to end their fun—and often their lives."

"Can you escape the maze trapped in total darkness?
The abandoned playhouse on the edge of town is where many local performers, including a young lady who dreamed of making it big on Broadway often took small role productions that came to town.
One evening a group of local teens slipped into an audition while the young lady was trying out for a part. They heckled her from the balcony, belting out rock songs each time she would begin to sing on stage. The young performer was so humiliated that she ran from the stage getting tangled up in some cords, bringing overhead spotlights crashing down upon her and causing the theater to go dark. When the lights came on the young lady was dead and the teens had vanished without a trace.
The town, so disturbed by the young lady’s death and the unexplained disappearance of the teens, would not go back to the playhouse. The theater eventually closed… windows were boarded up, doors chained shut, and power turned off, leaving it in complete darkness.
Many years later, some college students went to the old playhouse late at night on a dare…a game of follow the leader that would go terribly wrong. They managed to get in through the back stage door. They thought they heard a young voice singing so they moved deeper into the theater until they reached the stage.
Suddenly, deafening rock music began to blare. And just as they saw a shadow run across the stage towards them their flash lights went out leaving them completely in the dark. The group joined hands and turned to head for the back door, but each doorway seemed to lead nowhere and the halls seemed unending.
Finally they heard the voice of a young lady in the distance calling for them, ”over here” but no matter which direction they turned the voice was always behind them, no matter how far they went the voice was always further away and seemed to be mocking their fear. They began to scream but their screams could not be heard over the pounding music. There seemed to be no way out…they could not escape the endless maze…they were trapped in total darkness."

"The MaZe Manufacturing toy factory sits in the middle of town but has not been open for over a year now. After some bizarre worker accidents and disappearances of visitors in the factory the company closed down. Amid rumors that toys had come to life inside this sinister maze of terror, the owner vanished and has not been seen since. Lately though, some strange sounds have been coming from the factory at night and passersby have reported seeing flickering lights and shadows in the windows.

MaZe Manufacturing was a successful family owned company that made toys for many generations. As bigger chains began taking business away from the small business, they started looking for ways to make their toys more appealing and unique. Finally the owner came up with the perfect answer…toys that came to life. Shortly after, factory workers began meeting untimely demises; just one every so often, but it became more frequent. And visitors who would come to tour the factory would often disappear. Eventually local authorities launched an investigation, but when they arrived to search, the factory was deserted and the doors were locked.
Detectives managed to pry open the back door of the factory into the Shipping and Receiving area. As they made their way through dark corridors, they were met with more locked doors forcing them to continue on through the constricted space of the air ducts. Detectives could hear noises and smell a strange odor of melting plastic and burning flesh coming from deep within the factory, so they pressed on through a maze of swinging doors, moving floors, vibrating walls and confined spaces, all while blinded by flickering lights and disoriented by darkness. Along the way they encountered possessed China Dolls, a demonic Jack-in-the-Box, living stuffed bears and more toys that lunged at them from the darkness. Eventually the detectives ended up in a mirrored room where they discovered bodies of the missing workers and visitors with their hearts and eyes plucked out…their lives had been transplanted into the toys! They turned to run but the toys were everywhere, laughing and dancing; a sense of helplessness overcame the detectives as they realized there was no way out of this toy terror. The next day new toys appeared in the receiving area of the factory.
This October, the owner has returned and invites you in for a tour of the closed-down factory. Sure, you may be brave enough to find your way through Blind Fury, but are you strong enough to make it out alive?"

Radioactive Rails
Debut: 2014
Type: Scare Zone
"Due to a chemical explosion at the facility behind The Joker, employees were mutated and are now suffering from the delusion that the acpocalypse has happene dand are targeting park guests!
Before it was home to Six Flags St. Louis, this land was owned by the city. For over 50 years, these grounds were used to operate the largest chemical testing facility in the Mid-West—unbeknownst to the citizens. During the years of operation, rumors circulated- from hushed whispers regarding the building’s ominous appearance to stifled inquiries directed at the weary zombie-esque factory workers. Why were they bused in from other counties anyway? If only someone would’ve uncovered the truth before it was too late…it might have saved us all.
(Not that it helps any how, but I’ll go ahead and tell you what was really happening then—and why you should fear for your life now)
Around the time the facility was built, the town went bankrupt. In an overwhelming instance of poor decision making they agreed to turn a profit by allowing other cities to use the facility as a dumping ground for chemical waste. What could go wrong, right?
Operations continued for a few years before the real problems began. At first they were small and easy to ignore. A few litters of 3 headed kittens were found near the dumping zone; another year the local drinking water was neon orange for weeks without explanation. Shortly thereafter a series of disturbing mishaps and employee “disappearances” began that eventually proved incapable of being overlooked. Once the city officials realized what was happening, they were too late. Before each one of them simultaneously “disappeared” last month, they issued an apology for what they had done and a warning for what was to come. As the years pass the evidence of leaked toxins is becoming more and more obvious. The last known survivors make up the crew on our own railway, Radioactive Rails… Ride at your own risk."
Zombie Paintball Apocalypse
Debut: 2013
Type: Haunted House
"The town of Flagstaff was the perfect place for dangerous experiments until something went terribly wrong. Today, those behind the cover-up are desperate for help and have invited the public to help them hunt zombies.
The small town of Flagstaff was the perfect place to hide Area 66. A rural area, where people had coffee each morning at the local diner and watched little league games each Saturday afternoon at the local park…no one would suspect such a covert operation was in their midst. A serum was being developed to turn average people into super humans and was being tested on some of society’s undesirable citizens who had “volunteered.” After months of trials something went terribly wrong. Test subjects began dying… or so it seemed. In a matter of hours they would reawaken as zombies who had indeed gained superhuman strength, calculating deviousness and a powerful sense of violence. While the center tried to keep this a secret, the zombies were infecting other patients and workers…and taking control.
Desperate for help, the research workers invited the townsfolk to an evening grand opening of what they thought was a new paintball attraction. The theme…to hunt zombies. The participants boarded the wagons equipped with special paintball guns, eager to begin the games. But as darkness fell, it became apparent that this was not your run of the mill paintball game. Zombies that seemed too aggressive were charging the wagons and as shots were fired, special tracer paintballs would light up the night on their way to their target. Zombies seemed to be everywhere…surrounding the wagon. The tractors sped up in an attempt to get away but zombies blocked the path and began to descend upon the wagon. It became clear that this was not a game and these zombies were not actors…they were creatures who had been altered by chemicals and death. The only hope would be the sure shots of the people on board who had been tricked into this terrifying and heinous apocalyptic nightmare."
Insanity Alley

Type:
 Haunted House
"Watch for signs at Six Flags St. Louis and steer clear of Insanity Alley. Every autumn when the leaves start to turn into brilliant shades of fiery reds and oranges, and the air becomes chilly and crisp, like clockwork, mysterious and unexplained events occur in this section of the park.
All seems good by day, but at dusk, just as the sun hides itself over the horizon, the air starts to suddenly thicken and the wind slowly breaks the silence with a low, eerie, spine-chilling howl that shakes you to the bone. It’s a warning that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Local residents have dubbed the street “Insanity Alley” and avoid it at all costs for a reason– It’s deadly.
To the naked eye it looks like a harmless alleyway, but fleeting glimpses of ghastly figures with panicked looks of despair have been reported. Some even say they have even been enveloped, almost to the point of suffocation, by an overpowering evil force for just peeking down the alleyway.
Many have ventured down the alleyway searching for explanations, exploring its creepy depths, chasing the mysterious shadows lurking in the dark and have vanished. The “lucky” ones who return have done so with a sense of desperation about them, peering out of horrific hollowed eyes, and entranced with an inexplicable spell. Local residents that live nearby also tell of unexplained terrorizing shrieks that break the night silence, and report the lingering smell of rotting flesh.
It is believed that Insanity Alley sucks in those that get too close, whirling them into a disorienting world of backstreet terror and utter chaos, before draining the life out of them. Park goers who wander into Insanity Alley during the month of October do so at their own risk because there’s no telling what might happen."
